lease Keep Your Child Home If They Have Any of the Following:

☐ Fever over 100.4°F

  • Your child may return after being fever-free for at least 24 hours without fever-reducing medication.

☐ Diarrhea

  • Three or more watery, bloody, or loose stools within 24 hours, or the sudden onset of loose stools.
  • Your child may return 48 hours after diarrhea has completely resolved.

☐ Vomiting

  • One or more episodes of vomiting without another known cause.
  • Your child may return 48 hours after the last episode of vomiting.

☐ Severe or Persistent Coughing

  • Your child may return after symptoms have been improving for at least 24 hours.

☐ Yellowing of the Skin or Eyes (Jaundice)

  • Return only with written clearance from a licensed health care provider.

☐ Open Sores or Wounds Draining Body Fluids

  • Return after sores are healed, dry, or can be completely covered with a bandage.

☐ Stiff Neck and Headache

  • Especially when accompanied by one or more of the symptoms listed above.

☐ Difficulty Breathing or Abnormal Wheezing

☐ Complaints of Severe Pain

☐ Severe Eye Infection

  • Eye lesions that are severe, weeping, or producing pus.

When Your Child Is Sick

Please help us keep all children healthy by following these recommendations:

  • Have a backup child care plan for times when your child is ill.
  • Inform your child’s caregiver about your child’s illness, even if they will be staying home.
  • Do not return your child before the recommended exclusion period unless you provide written clearance from a licensed health care provider.
