Emergency Evacuation Drill

At Miss Ann’s Kiddie Korner, we practice emergency drills every month so the children know and understand what to do if we have an emergency. Children practice such drills as fire drills, lock down drills, earthquake drills and general power outage drills.

In case of an emergency, Miss Ann’s Kiddie Korner will follow the evacuation drill that is practiced with all staff and children on a monthly basis. There are three exits from each classroom in case of an emergency, everyone will meet at the corner of the property, at the corner of Greenwood Ave and Central Ave. Children will all be accounted for as they leave the building and again when we meet at our emergency meeting spot.

Prior to exiting the building, the director or teacher will pull the sign out sheet and the file with all of our emergency contact numbers for each child and staff member which is housed by the front door. Parents will be called to pick up each child when we are sure everyone is safe. Each staff member will have a list of each child that is present and will ensure that everyone is present and accounted for until each child has been picked up by their responsible party.

In case we are not able to meet at the appointed meeting spot, we will meet at the Parkside Elementary School.
